After waiting OVER 1 1/2 years for Mike’s $225 handcrafted wooden American flag coin holder I received it today in the mail! I am so disappointed with it! I am seriously in tears at how terrible of a job they did on the stars! The sad part is there is no hope of getting a refund or getting them to send me a better one. Can’t even place a complaint with his state or BBB because at this point they are not taking any more complaints! I need to figure out how to fix the stars without messing it up more! Pictures in comments. If anyone knows how to fix these and would be willing to help me I would so appreciate it. We are fast approaching July 4th. A day all Americans celebrate to remember how we fought for our rights. We have a lot of celebrations and pull out our flag, dust it off and put it out for display. One of the biggest issues I have as a US Army soldier, a Boy Scout leader, and honored American is how many in our country improperly display our flag; the symbol of our country. Regardless of your political views of our nation, we should at least take the time to learn how to properly display our flag, especially when displayed vertically. A quick and easy way to remember how to display the flag is to remember R-R. Red – Right. When ‘viewing’ the flag displayed vertically, it should be viewed with the long red stripe on the right. Please remember the flag is a symbol of our nation – the past, present, future. “Our Flag does not fly because the wind blows it; It flies with the last breath of every person who died defending it. My husband, David, is a deceased Marine who did 3 tours in Vietnam. All military deserves our respect for guarding our freedoms. Many have died for the country beneath her flag. All too many people today have little respect for it. To those who would burn our flag, I encourage them to visit a VA hospital and see the price of freedom.

Tyranny doesn’t rule the world because of you. What do our veterans and troops mean to you? My grandfather was a career Naval officer who fought in WWll, Korea, and one tour in Vietnam. He was in Pearl Harbor when it was attacked and his ship went down. He was then reassigned to the USS KUWISHAWEE and after the second war was over, was stationed in Okinawa for about 15 years. I didn’t get to meet my grandpa until 1966 and then only briefly as he was gone again. When he came back in 1972, we were inseparable and I learned so much from him. He died in 1977 and the Navy buried him with a 21 gun salute and played Taps. We couldn’t have been more proud of him for his service and dedication to our Country. I still miss him today.
